Water Frontage on the Magnificent Gippsland Lakes

A J MACLEOD PROPERTY PTY LTD has purchased 1.5 acres [Residential zoned] at Metung in the magnificent Gippsland lakes region of Victoria. This unique property borders the water front reserve and includes a private jetty berth suitable to yachts, with access to 400 sq km of Australia’s largest inland water area, or access to the ocean via Lakes entrance.

At present permission is being obtained via the local authorities for the construction of a sustainable house, eco friendly of which is modular built in factory and when completed will be transported to the site. Therefore reducing waste of building material [40% of waste in Australia is believed to be from building material. Pollution is reduced as machinery needed for traditional on site construction is minimal.

The design maximises the use of the natural resources of the Sun for heat and light as the design is east and North facing allowing morning light and sun for warm with a raked roof high pitch ceiling facing Sth Westerly allowing to capture natural light at the latest part of the day. The house will be built over a valley on piers allowing for wind for cooling but ramped access illuminating the need for steps.
